Friendly Match with Army Team
On Friday 7th May 2010 Heol y Cyw RFC will play a friendly match with an Army Team on tour in the UK. They are 19 CSS Bn from Northern Ireland. The Kick Off is at 7.0pm and will be followed by a Barbecue at the Club and a Social evening. It should be a good end of season wind down. Come along and support Heol y Cyw RFC and the British Army.

Supporters can get in the mood to travel to Maesteg on the following day for the Mid Glamorgan District Plate Cup Final between Heol y Cyw II's and Brackla RFC. Kick Off at 1.0pm

2nd Plate Cup Final
The Mid Glamorgan District RFU Barrie Morris Plate Cup Final between Heol y Cyw RFC 2nds and Brackla RFC will be played on Saturday 8.5.10 at the Maesteg RFC ground with a 1.0pm Kick Off. Let's give our 2nds as much support as possible

The Annual Charity Match between Heol y Cyw 2nds and The Welsh Assembly has now been re-arranged for Friday 19.3.10 with the Kick Off at 7.15pm. Come along and support a worthwhile cause and watch an enjoyable game of rugby

The away fixture at Pentyrch RFC which was postponed last Saturday has been re-arranged for Saturday 27.2.10 K.O. 2.30pm

2nds Bryncethin Match Postponed
The 2nd Team Fixture was again postponed because Bryncethyn failed to raise a team. Cyw were awarded the District Plate tie and will now play away at Maesteg Harlequins on 6.3.10

Pentyrch Match Postponed
The league match at Pentyrch on Saturday 23.1.10 has been postponed to a date to be fixed as they are involved in a re-arranged Plate Cup match at Llantwit Fadre on that date

Todays game against Tylorstown at Home has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. The fixture has been re-arranged for Saturday 1.5.10, Kick Off 2.30pm

The match against Fairwater at Heol y Cyw on 9.1.10 has been postponed because of a frozen pitch. It has been provisionally re-arranged for Saturday 17th April, 2010.

Penarth Match Re-arranged
The postponed match against Penarth RFC will now take place at Heol y Cyw on Friday 12th February, 2010 with the Kick Off at 7.15pm

Tylorstown Match Re-arranged
The re-arranged match against Tylorstown at Heol y Cyw has been fixed for Saturday 16.1.10, K.O. 2.30pm

Boxing Day Friendly
On Saturday 26.12.09 (Boxing Day) Heol y Cyw will play Pencoed at Heol y Cyw in the annual friendly match. Kick Off at 11.30am. I am sure that all who witnessed Heol y Cyw winning at Pencoed last year will want to support the lads in their efforts to continue the winning run.

These games are always fiercely contested and enjoyable to all. After the game enjoy the socialising in the Clubhouse with entertainment provided during the early evening. Come along and make it a part of your Xmas Celebrations.

Team Injuries
Best wishes to Damien Hicks who suffered a broken leg in last weeks game at Brecon. Unfortunately he joins Gareth Howe and Rhys Owen who received similar injuries earlier in the Season. Everyone at the Club wishes all three a speedy and complete recovery.

The annual charity match between Heol y Cyw RFC and a Welsh Assembly 15 will take place at Heol y Cyw on Friday 27.11.09 KO 7.15pm (to be confirmed) All proceeds will be donated to Bowel Cancer (Wales).

Training at Heolycyw
Training for the forthcoming Season at Heol y Cyw RFC will begin on Tuesday 7.7.09 from 7pm until 9pm and continue each Tuesday and Thursday throughout the Season.

Coaches Alun Howe and Geoff Griffiths who successfully coached our 1st team players to promotion to Division 3 South East last Season, will again be in charge and look forward to welcoming all existing players and any new ones who would like to be part of a progressive set up. All are welcome.

The 2nd Team will be competing in the Bridgend and District League and Cup competitions.

Division 4 South East Runners Up
Congratulations to the players and coaches of Heol y Cyw RFC on securing promotion to Division 3 after yesterdays 10 - 10 drawn game at Porth. With one game left it is unlikely, though still possible, that we can go up as champions. After the disappointment of relegation last season it says much for the character of the players that they were able to put it behind them and play some outstanding rugby to gain promotion. Credit must also be given to the coaches, Alun Howe and Geoff Griffiths. Well done to all.

District Plate Final
Congratulations to Heol y Cyw RFC 2nd Team who won the inaugural Barrie Morris Memorial Plate Final at Llanharan on 2.5.09 by beating Wick RFC by 27 pts to 20pts.
