Training at Heolycyw
Training for the forthcoming Season at Heol y Cyw RFC will begin on Tuesday 7.7.09 from 7pm until 9pm and continue each Tuesday and Thursday throughout the Season.

Coaches Alun Howe and Geoff Griffiths who successfully coached our 1st team players to promotion to Division 3 South East last Season, will again be in charge and look forward to welcoming all existing players and any new ones who would like to be part of a progressive set up. All are welcome.

The 2nd Team will be competing in the Bridgend and District League and Cup competitions.

Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of Heol y Cyw RFC will be held at the Clubhouse on Thursday 4.6.09 at 7.30pm

Annual Presentation Evening
The Annual Presentation Evening will be held at the Clubhouse on Friday 12.6.09 commencing at 7.0 for 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £10 and are limited to 80 and there will be a Buffet meal. Tickets are are available from the Secretary, John Powson. Guest of Honour will be former Wales International, Craig Quinnell.

Division 4 South East Runners Up
Congratulations to the players and coaches of Heol y Cyw RFC on securing promotion to Division 3 after yesterdays 10 - 10 drawn game at Porth. With one game left it is unlikely, though still possible, that we can go up as champions. After the disappointment of relegation last season it says much for the character of the players that they were able to put it behind them and play some outstanding rugby to gain promotion. Credit must also be given to the coaches, Alun Howe and Geoff Griffiths. Well done to all.

District Plate Final
Congratulations to Heol y Cyw RFC 2nd Team who won the inaugural Barrie Morris Memorial Plate Final at Llanharan on 2.5.09 by beating Wick RFC by 27 pts to 20pts.

Good News
Chris has now been released from Hospital after a successful operation and should have made a full recovery within 8 weeks. The other good news is that he has been told that there is no reason why he shouldn't be able to resume playing next Season.

Chris Howe Injury
On Saturday 21st February, 2009 during the 1st Half of the game at Llantwit Major, Heol y Cyw's Captain and centre Chris Howe suffered a serious head injury as the result of an accidental collision. He was admitted to the Princess of Wales Hospital where he was diagnosed as suffering with a depressed fracture of the front of the skull.

He was transferred to Morriston Hospital where he under went an operation to repair the damage. Everyone at Heol y Cyw RFC is thinking of you Chris and we hope the operation goes well and you make a full recovery.

Semi Final of the District Plate Competition
The 2nds have been drawn at Home against Bridgend Sports in the Semi Final of the District Plate Competition.
